HEALTH

ðŸ‘‰As the saying goes, health is the root of all happiness. Health is the most valuable asset of a human being. A person's happiness depends on their health. Money, success, fame, honor, influence and prestige are all meaningless to a man of broken health.

Changing of seasons linked to mental health challenges in Arizona

Mental health concerns are becoming more prevalent in Arizona as the temperature drops and the days get shorter. This is a trend that is seen both globally and locally, despite the generally sunny weather and relief from the scorching summer heat. Dr. Deborah Fernandez-Turner, the deputy chief psychiatric officer for CVS Health, explains that the shorter length of the day can have a greater impact on mood than many Arizonans realize. The lack of morning sun affects sleep, which in turn affects mental health. Surprisingly, seasonal affective disorder is commonly seen in Arizona due to these factors. Seasonal affective disorder is a type of depression associated with disruptions in natural sleep patterns, typically starting in the fall and lasting through the winter. However, it's not just the changing seasons that contribute to declining mental health. The holiday season brings increased stress and expectations from loved ones and friends. Dr. Fernandez-Turner advises Arizonans to prioritize self-care and check in on others during this time. It's important to take breaks, focus on your own well-being, and not just on bringing joy to others. Additionally, for those who are struggling, reaching out and having an open conversation can be beneficial for both parties involved.
